About the Program

Individualized support for rehabilitation and reintegration.

The Community Support Program provides short-term, one-to-one counselling to youth who have contact with the Youth Justice System. The program supports rehabilitation and reintegration for young people who have justice-system involvement, including gang activity.

A key feature of CSP is its ability to provide individualized support using evidence-based counselling approaches while helping youth re-establish or strengthen community ties and work toward any sanctioned requirements.

A collaborative counselling approach that can help young people explore motivation, identify personal goals and strengthen readiness for positive change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT-informed strategies can help youth examine connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviours and develop more constructive coping and decision-making patterns.

Strengths-Based Practice

Counselling focuses on abilities, resilience and existing resources rather than defining participants only by challenges or justice involvement.

Community Reintegration

Support extends beyond the counselling session by helping participants strengthen community ties and identify positive supports and opportunities.
